Hello, my name is Erika Beale and I am passionate about helping others feel happier in their lives. I am a Reiki Practitioner and primary school teacher in Oxfordshire, where I live with my husband, two boys and two dogs.
I became interested in Reiki during a particularly challenging time in my life, and after hearing one of my close friends talk about the positive effect Reiki can have on anxiety and depression. I received my first cycle of treatments and was astounded by the results. This led me into my first and second degree Reiki training, after which I began treating family and friends.
My curiosity led me to read some fantastic books written by Frank Arjava Petter and Frans and Bronwen Stiene. These books were an inspiration to me, and through their positive outlook, made me want to find out about traditional, Japanese Reiki, so I trained with Tadao Yamaguchi, and then the International House of Reiki, which deepened by understanding of Reiki and also gave me the tools to take care of my own wellbeing.
I now feel very privileged to be able to offer Reiki treatments to others.
I have learnt that there is no magic cure for mental illness, nor complete freedom, but there are ways to drastically reduce the effect it can have on your life. Reiki is one of those ways.
